An old bridge over the Bata River in Paonta Sahib, Sirmaur district, collapsed after relentless monsoon rains weakened one of its pillars. The bridge, part of the Kala Amb–Paonta Sahib National Highway, gave way under the force of the swollen river. Fortunately, authorities had already diverted traffic to a newly constructed bridge, and no vehicles were on the bridge at the time, preventing any casualties.
Kullu Update: Heavy monsoon rains continue to disrupt normal life in Himachal Pradesh, with 47 roads blocked in Kullu district, making it one of the worst-affected areas after Mandi. A trekking expedition in Kullu district ended in tragedy after trek leader Dhananjay Verma from Udhampur was swept away while crossing Majhach Nala near Manali. He was leading 10 trekkers when sudden strong currents carried him away. His body was recovered on Sunday.

Traffic has come to a standstill near Ghatighar on the Manikarn-Barshaini route due to a landslide. Landslides are happening repeatedly here. A large amount of debris and rocks fell from the hill. Because of this, the road has been severely damaged. The route is closed to vehicle traffic. People and tourists are crossing on foot, risking their lives.
